Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo submits resolution for federal land to build houses

Governor Joe Lombardo has requested the release of federally owned land in Nevada for new housing developments to help lower housing costs. In a letter to legislative leaders, he highlighted that 87% of Nevada's land is federally owned and warned that Washoe County could run out of developable land by 2027, with Clark County facing a similar issue by 2032. Assembly majority floor leader Sandra Jauregui emphasized the need for immediate action on housing affordability and suggested collaboration with both parties in the legislature.
